At least 16 people have been shot inside a Texas church after a gunman opened fire during the Sunday morning service.

The shooting happened at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, where around 50 people usually attend service, according to local reports.

Witnesses said a man 'in full gear' walked inside the church and opened fire just before 10.30am.

Neighbors in the area said they may have heard the shooter reload multiple times.

Another witness at the scene said a two-year-old was also shot in the attack.

According to KSAT, there were at least six helicopters called in to transport victims to the hospital.

It's unclear if anyone was fatally wounded in the attack.

One of the elders at my church was trying to see what would be needed to arm a couple members. I think he got shot down.

I see what you did there.

Very few churches have a security detail for services...

Not only that but many churches leave their doors open even when services are not going on. No doubt that is going to change.

The Orlando shooter was bisexual and known to be a regular customer at that bar.

He was upset at Obama for his drone strikes and bombing campaigns.

He was an Obama voter.

His wife was aware of his bisexuality and even drove him to there to scope it out.

Obama used the occasion to attack conservative Christians who opposed same sex marriage for leading to the sort of hate behind that attack. He painted the White House in rainbow lights and Houston’s lesbian mayor did the same with city hall.

There was no such remembrance nationally for those shot to death at the company Christmas party by an Islamonazi and his wife (who’d been honored at that same office with a baby shower). No message that they were “targeted”. Media tried suppressing the detail that it even was a Christmas party.

I believe the law here is you can carry in church if the people who own it approve. If they say no guns, it is a no gun place.

I wonder if Trump is going to pay the family members of the deceased millions of dollars like the black church murdered families got from Ofrauda? Pretty doubtful. I never understood that and why it was just okay to pay them that money. What gave the right for those family members to receive millions from our government? Wow we need an honest and real watch dog media in this country so things are on the up and up at all times.

“WHERE WERE THE TEXAS CARRIERS ? ? ?”

Shooting 16 people in a crowded area cannot be that hard even if every single person is carrying. If you can shoot a couple of shots per second with some accuracy, it only takes less than 10 seconds before you can shoot a dozen or so people multiple times.

Unless those carrying are alert and looking out for other gunmen (if everybody is carrying, everybody is a gunman), chances of a carrying bystander PREVENTING is just absurd. What a carrying bystander can do is limit the damage... if nobody is carrying, likely that hundreds would be dead before the cops come in. If people are carrying people, the shooter can still kill a dozen or so before being neutralized.

We have a Baptist Church here with a pretty conservative congregation but the building has “no guns permitted” signs at each entrance. More surprisingly, in the elevator there is a photo of Nelson Mandela with a quotation from him.

Nothing on Drudge yet. The death toll (27) now equals the Sandy Hook shootings. My wife goes to a church just down the street from there (Sandy Hook). No news on the perpetrator from what I’ve been able to gather. I’ve got my suspicions but I’m keeping quiet until some hard information comes out.

If this wasn’t an Allahu akbar sitch, then I think it sounds like our Seal Beach salon massacre. Someone very upset at someone else inside the church.
