Paul Manafort, the onetime chairman of President Donald Trump's campaign, has been indicted along with his former colleague, Rick Gates. The indictments mark the beginning of a new phase in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. The timing of the indictment suggests that Mueller is pursuing a legal strategy typically reserved for cases involving drug cartels and mafia families.

It’s obvious to me what’s going on. They indict Manafort for anything they can find. A man like him with his lifetime of political contacts and business dealings would be easy to find something on him when an army of lawyers is giving him a legal rectal exam. After they indict him on something airtight, they cut a deal with him to spill the dirt on Trump.
I daresay any of us that have lived past the age of 40 could be subject to indictment by an army of top flight lawyers looking into our lives. It reminds me of the line from Atlas Shrugged where one of the characters talked about how the job of the state is not to create laws to get the criminals but to create so many laws and regulations as to get the law abiding....
Well, we know for sure what side Mueller is on. Time to cut bait.

My guy feeling is Manafort won’t fold. The media pretends an indictment is a conviction and that a guy like Manafort hasn’t been lawyered up since ten years before these events allegedly occurred.
I predict a vigorous defense and maybe even outright acquittal—or a plea to a lesser charge.

Not only that, but this is about the 50th or 100th time members of the Clinton Crime Family have skated off scot free. Banana republic indeed, and our stupid lamesteam “watchdog” media just looks the other way as much as it can.
