Late to chime in but to underscore your point, stockpirate, MSM laughed at Trump about interviewing Mueller because they said Mueller could not serve as FBI Director (due to being well past his 10 year term limit, 1968 act)
So it begs the question, what exactly was Trump interviewing Mueller for the day before Rosenstein appointed him Special Prosecuter?

Attorneys have an old trick. We sometimes instruct our best and close friends to do a consult with each good divorce attorney in town before we take their case. Why? Guess who I don’t have to see sitting across the table from me in the case management meetings with the judge?
