Too bad we dont have some kind of reusable “shuttle” craft that could retrieve these very expensive toys before they melt in the atmosphere.

New satellites for climate measurement are unnecessary.
The existing ones did their job by providing a baseline from which data can be manufactured.
If they launch any new satellites they will be filled with the same circuity behind an elevator “door close” button.
