The Washington Free Beacon, funded by GOP mega-donor Paul Singer was reportedly the original funder of Fusion GPS’ research project that attempted to dig up dirt on then-candidate Donald Trump — a project that would later be funded by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
The Washington Examiner reported Friday that lawyers for the Free Beacon — a plucky conservative outlet based in the nation’s capital — funded the project from fall 2015 to spring 2016, when it pulled its funding.

This phrase “picked it up” keeps being used and it’s really very curious. I don’t for one second believe that a contract was signed to perform research services meaning that WFB owned it, and somehow Fusion GPS just took it and gave it to the Clinton campaign? No, it had monetary value and it was owned by WFB. They had to grant permission for use of their research, theirs. And, it was likely sold seeing as how it had monetary value.
Singer is a big open borders guy like his puppet Marco Rubio.
Agreed... allowing that sort of thing to go unpunished would set the stage for some very bad stuff next time Dems are in power.

I have no desire to whitewash the WFB or Paul Singer, but I want to understand the purported ‘conservative” involvement with GPS Fusion, in terms of scope of work and cost, before I condemn anyone. My suspicion is that the “Republican” phase was a small taters research project with no shady distribution. Wonder why the Dems are so desperate for the GPS bank records to remain hidden...?
The bank was named sometime ago.
They, the Bank, even said they would comply with the order.

The other is a very interesting question.
Why did the the Lawyer for the DNC/HRC feel soo compelled to get out ahead of this story?
From what I understand, The obama appointed judge was to rule on the release of the bank records as early as Wednesday night, but did not do so. Now I read, as early as Friday.
Is it possible that they wanted to “partially expose” themselves hoping that the Judge would rule to keep the bank records sealed? The Judge thinking/justifying that there is no need now.
Maybe.
In either case, there is certainly more hidden in those banking records.
