HAMPTON, Va. A new poll released by Hampton University shows Republican gubernatorial nominee Ed Gillespie has an eight point lead over Democratic nominee Ralph Northam.
The poll shows Gillespie with the support of 41 percent of likely voters Northam with 33 percent.

I get the sense Virginia is in a ‘law and order’ mood due to criminal aliens, MS 13, and gangs. Gillespie wrapped up all the LEO endorsements and is running effective ads on conservative talk radio on the topic.
if the Republicans capture both governor seats, New Jersey & Virginia...it’s lights out for the Democrat Party in the 2018 Mid-Term elections. Actually such losses will only hurry the political destruction of the entire Democrat Party.
All voters in both New Jersey and Virginia, get out and vote for Republican candidate, Kim Guadagno in New Jersey and Republican candidate, Ed Gillespie in Virginia.
MAGA...in NJ & VA!!!
That explains Obama’s rant.
:-)
Quote: “Does anybody have the numbers on NJ race?”
Phil Murphy has it in the bag. Anger with Christie is just killing Kim. But, I think watching the VA race is scaring Murphy. The other day he released a campaign commercial in front of the GW Bridge and invoked Bridgegate.
NJ as a default votes D. It takes the place bringing to the ground before the voters even remotely consider choosing an R.
“As much as I cant stand Amnesty Ed, I hope this is true.”
Of course he’s better than the radical mischief that the Dem would inflict.
But downticket (Jill Vogel and John Adams) there are conservatives to be proud of, and who we would want to advance to higher office.
Getting rid of the existing lawless Attorney General is important too.
The attorney general position is almost more important than the Gov desk.
Poll conducted by the public policy department at Hampton University, a historically black institution that would never be confused with Hillsdale, or Grove City College.
To its credit, Hampton’s poll has always been the most accurate of all the Virginia-based surveys, so I would put more credence in this poll than others.
Interesting footnote: during the 2014 Senate campaign, Hampton was supposed to release a final poll just a few days before the election. The poll was withheld, with the university citing a need to review the numbers before its release. Incumbent Mark Warner won in a nail-biter, by only a few thousand votes.
There have been rumors that the final Hampton poll in the Senate race showed the contest deadlocked, or with Gillespie slightly ahead, and (depending on the version you believe), the pollsters didn’t want to release their survey for fears of hurting Warner’s chances, or they were pressured to suppress the poll.
However, the poll remains very accurate and this should be good news for Gillespie. Still, he should be careful. Virtually guaranteed there will be some sort of surprise in the days ahead, and the Dims will spare no effort to turn out the vote in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Hampton and Richmond, along with the counties bordering D.C.
The Washpost DOESN”T have a paywall for it’s disputation of this poll LOL!
That is SO funny!
“Christie did nothing to deserve the treatment he has received from the Liberal media, except be a Republican (RINO actually)”
People who needed to cross the George Washington Bridge might take issue with that, a bit.
“Gillespie wrapped up all the LEO endorsements and is running effective ads on conservative talk radio on the topic.”
So maybe GOPe, but if he’s marketing to us conservatives, there may be some hope.
Most of the GOPe would prefer to be prison guards for the Dems, while they try to re-educate us Deplorables.
“Please read this before you freak out about that new poll in the Virginia governors race”
Sadly, the First Amendment allows the Washington Post to publish whatever hit pieces they want against us with virtual impunity. Our only real weapon is to point out the abject bias as it happens, so as to discredit these operations.
In this case the start the ‘article’ with “PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT...”. Sounds a bit biased to me, to say the least.
It’s true Gillespie is more establishment than we’d like, but he’s got conservative Catholic principles so I hope, if he wins, he’ll draw from the nice list of conservative endorsers like Mike Farris and Ken Cuccinelli for guidance.
Agree. I had some rough times here with people who want to “Teach the GOPe a Lesson”. The thing is, if Gillespie loses, the ONLY HEADLINE the country will see is:
TRUMP CANDIDATE DEFEATED IN VIRGINIA!!!
The will not see: “GOPe Defeated in Virginia” because the Left owns the media and are much more interested in taking down Trump.
Other than a very small number of political junkies, no one will know the real reason Gillespie lost...and there is not a damn thing we can do about that now.
I lived in NJ at that time and if you had followed that story you would know he had no idea that was to happen and when it did the two involved were fired within 24 hrs, indicted and found guilty.
There were about three investigation into the incident and not one shred of evidence linked Christie to bridgegate.
