Roy Moore: Gay marriage ruling ‘even worse’ than 1857 pro-slavery decision
The Hill ^ | October 24, 2017 | Mallory Shelbourne

Posted on 10/24/2017 10:40:17 AM PDT by C19fan

Republican Alabama Senate nominee Roy Moore once argued that the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize gay marriage was “even worse” than its ruling in the 19th century Dred Scott case, which found that African-Americans were not citizens, and therefore property.

As a matter of law, Judge Moore is absolutely correct.

Judge Tainey had the Constitution and Federal law to rely upon.

Justice Kennedy made new law on a purely emotional, non-Constitutional basis.

I want him to win more than I wanted Trump to win.

The actual article does not support the sensation of the headline.

But it’s the headline that matters to the simple.

Expect Judge Moore to be asked about this several more times so the headline can be kept in place.

Homosexuality is an abomination to God . You will never change that.

And Holy Matrimony is a glorious institution essential for the proper continuation of the human race. So, rather than merely tolerating abominations, they are elevated to something that can be sacred and holy.

Anyone who supports gay marriage is evil.

They cannot change that anymore than they can change their sex. What we have is satanic rule of unsaved humans. Praise Jesus , the only way to eternal life.

I dont care really. I believe this is a generational/regional thing. Whereas the pro-life movement will carry on for ever.

Roy Moore: Gay marriage ruling ‘even worse’ than 1857 pro-slavery decision

He is correct, of course, but he should shut his foolish mouth about stuff like this.

There is no political upside to making these statements.

The gay marriage ruling was the worst Supreme Court ruling in our history. The court spit in God’s eye and dared Him to do something about it.

Might be the kiss of death in NY or CA but not in Alabama. People there still believe in God...

Care to elaborate on that?

Yes, Constitutionally speaking he is absolutely correct. That’s why had to pass amendments to end slavery.

If the gays could get an amendment passed, then they might have proper legal standing for their “reforms”, but they couldn’t, so they don’t.

He’s right, the 1857 decision may have been morally reprehensible, but it was in line with the laws of the time.... The gay marriage ruling just ignored the laws and morality entirely and invented law.

It’s the fact he doesn’t play games, like the yankee liberals and elites think everyone should, that he will win Alabama by double digits handily.

Watching this guy in DC is going to be fun... The blue state ivory tower political classes are going go insane and he’s not going to give a damn

IMO, the 3 worst decisions in the history of the Supreme Court (in order of decision) are: Dredd Scott, Roe v. Wade, and the one allowing homosexual marriage.

Think of all of the human misery and death caused by governments pretending things to be true that aren’t true:
- Pretended that black people aren’t people: slavery.
- Pretended that Jewish people aren’t people: holocaust.
- Pretending that preborn people aren’t people: millions of abortions.
- Pretending that homosexuality is normal: the problems are just beginning.
