Yesterday, Charisma magazines Steve Strang released audio of an interview he conducted for his forthcoming book, God and Donald Trump, with televangelist James Robison, who has been a key spiritual advisor to Trump since the campaign.
Robison revealed that he had urged Trump not to try to speak in religious terms but to simply let his personal growth reveal to the world the way in which his faith in Christ has changed his heart, insisting that the nation is witnessing this spiritual growth in the increased maturity of Trumps tweets.
I have been with him in so many settings, Robison said, with so many different people, including on the plane and in the car, watching how he treats everybody. It is absolutely one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. He is so respectful and then hell get up and be like [Muhammad] Ali, punching everybody out, knocking them out and theyll think, well, he doesnt have love. Well, did you ever think maybe love knocks out the enemy that is hurting all the people that need that love? So thats what he is doing, so yes, what he is accomplishing and what must be accomplished is an answer to peoples prayers.
He just needs to keep doing what he is doing, Robison continued. He is just getting wiser every day, his tweets are getting wiser. And by the way, doing those tweets, he is doing the thing that every leader is going to have to doyou have got to communicate directly with the people you love, directly with the American people and you have got to be able to do it around a biased, totally anti-God, anti-Christian-biblical-worldview media. You have to talk continually to the American people and, God bless him, hes doing it and I think that his tweets will become wiser and wiser As he walks out the power of scripture and the truth that wisdom offers and the incredible wisdom that makes possible unbelievable correction and restoration, if hell just keep doing that and then just share his heart, more and more you are going to see continuous wisdom. I watch it every day.
Robison claimed that he has sown a deep seed of faith in Trump and hes very, very responsive. The ways he respects [Rex] Tillerson, [James] Mattis, the ones around him, [Mike] Pompeo, Ben Carson, the people hes put there. Ive watched him honor his assistants that have been with him 15 or 20 years and talk about him maybe not respecting women, Ive never seen a man treat women behind the scenes any more respectfully that Ive watched him treat them when Im around him. And hes not doing it for show.
After Trump had been elected, he stated that he felt he needed God more, not less, to help him carry with weight of the job before him.
Some of his speeches have been very good, with regard to God and Country.
I think his guy is on to something.
James R is usually right on especially on things like this.
Thanks DrewH. I vaguely remember that being covered last year. It’s good to know.
I’ve always liked James Robison and I’m glad he’s on President Trumps’ spiritual team. God bless them all.
Nothing like going up against the Left to wake one up to how Satan nearlymwed down the US in all things and all ways. I suppose it sounds like hyperbolic exaggeration until one actually steps up to bat against the deep state/left/ MSM.
It seems to me God is using Trump.
Three years ago I would never have predicted that Trump would be championing our cause and God’s right now.
Hm, I always heard Greta was a Scientologist.
Greta is a Scientologist. But she is noted for doing charity work with Franklin Graham.
God always seems to intervene at the most desperate hours for the USA. Because we keep the lord first, if the commies get control this wont be the case...
All my life I have never had much confidence in high profile evangelists. This guy is different to my judgment. He came and spoke to the student body at my high school (back when they still could) when I was still in HS. I am about to be 61 years old next month. He has has maintained a committed ministry for many, many years. To my knowledge, there has never been a hint of scandal with his ministry. May God continue to bless his ministry.
Trump was elected as the alternative to eight more years of Obama, and he tapped into the artery of nationalism and anti-governmentalism. He is doing the job voters expected of him.
Would it be good if he loved Jesus? Sure. But let’s not marry the American church to him because he gives an encouraging signal once in a while.
James Robison is the real deal. Ive seen him overseas in the most dire of conditions, I don’t know how he does it..
Well, I’d like to believe we keep Him first.
Sadly, I don’t think we do a good job of it.
I do admit, He intervenes on our behalf anyway.
In this instance possibly for no other reason than that Trump expressed his sincere desire to do the right things.
I have been a 100% Trump supporter since the week he announced; but when he said "my little wine and my little cracker," I plotzed. Robinson gave him some good advice, since Adult Sunday School or Bible Study classes weres pparently outside of POTUS' previous experience.
In a way, it's good, since overtly Christian jargon (Catholic or Evangelical) makes the left even more screechified and deranged than usual, if that is even possible. Wait until the Roy Moore campaign heats up. Popcorn!

In my very humble opinion, it appears to me that a great, huge deal of Trump’s avid supporters put Trump — the man — first. The cult of personality is truly, truly frightening (as the demonizing responses sure to follow here will show, as it always does for ANY criticism of the man). I wish him and the WH NOTHING but the best. NOTHING.
But he has been a big disappointment thus far (I can list the very long list of reasons upon request) and the knee-jerk apoplectic response of the army of Trump ... dare I say “worshippers” is one of the most disheartening and counterproductive aspects of it all. Just like identity politics and what we see from the BLM crowd, it is extremely destructive and near-impossible to have a civil conversation when ANY criticism of Trump is involved. (Please, please, please do not prove me right for the umpteenth time in the coming responses here for this thread.)
