Dallas owner says he has heard from concerned sponsors
The Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who this month said he would bench any of his players who disrespect the flag during the national anthem, says that the protest movement is damaging the NFL.
This season dozens of NFL players have knelt during the anthem to highlight racial injustice in the United States. The movement has split the nation, with many perceiving it as disrespectful to military veterans. The NFLs television ratings are also down, although it is not clear whether this is directly linked to the protests, as TV sports audiences have fallen across America.
There is no question the league is suffering negative effects from these protests, Jones said on Sunday.
Joness Cowboys are valued at around $5bn, and he said he had heard from concerned sponsors. Our ability to be substantive is based on having a strong NFL, a league that people are really interested in and want to watch and want to watch the games, Jones said. At all times, if I am anything, I am first and foremost a proponent of making the NFL strong. Making us have as many people watching the game as we can and watching in light of what we are doing and thats playing football. If all this makes you stronger to represent messages, lets dont do it in a way that tears down the strength of the NFL.

Die, NFL. Die.
Die, NBA. Die.
Hey Jerry, guess that kneeling didn’t work out, huh? Bummer, dude.
No, Jerry, they killed it.
No Sh!t Sherlock.
Just wait until next year when the season ticket holders drop out.
I quit last year when this crap started and the league did nothing.
The NFL hates America and America noticed.
Now the feeling is mutual.
There is nothing they can do now to repair their image.
It would be a good time to start a new football league that puts forward a patriotic America loving image.
Hey Jerry, you took a knee. You linked arm in arm with these losers and ingrates.
Now take off, hoser. Your time is up.
And guess what? There’s no putting the genie back into the bottle.
Jerry is against the kneeling and is trying to save the NFL from itself.
He is one of the good guys on this.
Could JJ make a run at commish? He could let Stephen take over all DC ops.....pretty much runs the org today.
It would be just another avenue for the left to protest America, paid for by the taxpayers in this country.
The NFL is dead. It’s more than just the kneelers, too. Millenials aren’t interested in that crap and us lifelong fans are dying off and finding better ways to enjoy life - like going outside or doing hobbies and stuff.
They disrespected us!! There’s no diversity! Irony.
Jerry Jones will not tolerate protests on his team:

No. It wouldn’t be tolerated.
When do they wear pink again?
It has become clear that NFL owners realize that they are going to lose
money. They believe that allowing players to kneel will cost them less
than forcing players to stand, which might cause players to strike.
Did Jerry take a Mulligan for his kneeling stunt a few weeks ago?
I have a cynical theory. I wonder if Jerry is purposefully being protrayed as the one owner who cares and is willing to take action against “kneelers” in order to make the Cowboys a test case for the NFL owners. The NFL might be looking at Cowboy revenues to see how bad the fallout is from this whole mess.
If that is the case, then if the Cowboys measurably improve in revenue, then the whole NFL might follow his “lead”. I personlly won’t be happy unless they also dump Goodell.
He is one of the good guys on this.
But he linked arms with the players and took a knee a fornight ago.
The owners are old and befuddled. Goodel is not capable of decisive action or effective leadership. He will never be confused with Commissioner Kenesaw Mountion Landis. When baseball’s future was threatened, the judge knew what to do and did it.
