The population in the 1860s was thirty million, 600,000 then is the equivalent of 3,000,000 kids being slaughtered today. 23 thousand young kids died in Gettysburg in one day or 230,000 in today’s numbers. ANY solution would have been better than Lincoln’s Blood bath.
Mistake. They equivalent number of Deaths today would be 6,000,000.
There weren’t nearly that many killed at Gettysburg in THREE days.
Casualties are not killed.
The bloodiest ONE day was considered Sharpsburg, but again, only about 3700 killed.
