Why would you view secession ans a bellicose act? We should be promoting CA secession. Treaties can be created concerning water, military bases etc. You are WAY off base.

I don’t think you’re view of my post is fair. I never said they can’t go. I did say that if they do, they surrender the rights and priveledges of being a part of the USA including freedom to come and go as they wish, freedom to leverage resources from adjoining states, federal funds, etc and that to get any of that back they need to negotiate treaties. I think they have a lot we who remain in the union would want, namely produce. So trade agreements can be worked out. However once they declare themselves a sovereign state I fully expect that they will have an open border policy and will be overrun with pretty much the whole population of Mexico. Indeed, I predict the result is that they would eventually merge with Mexico. Hence they should be on the other side of the wall.
