The fires that started sweeping across the state earlier this month are the most destructive in Californias history. The fires have burned 245,000 acres, destroyed 7,700 structures and killed 42 people, according to Cal Fire, the states firefighting department.
The fires have been particularly bad in Sonoma County, where 30 pot farms and three pot manufacturers lost everything to the blazes, according to the web site of the Sonoma County Growers Alliance. None of those businesses are insured, according to the alliance. Allen said he managed to confirm that 25 farms were destroyed in Sonoma County, which are included in his statewide tally. Hes still trying to reach the remaining five.
He said the farmers are thankful to be alive, but the devastation is heartbreaking, especially since none of them are insured.

This should be an interesting thread.
Cheech and Chong were greatly saddened...
For your interest.
Now I get why I’ve had the munchies all week.
“Allen said there are more than 50,000 pot farms in California, and as many as 15,000 in Sonoma County.”
Up in smoke. Uninsured.
That’s a shame.
No pot. Doritos stock will plummet.
“50,000 pot farms in California, and as many as 15,000 in Sonoma County..........
Looks like some major competition to the Mexican drug cartel. No wonder there are major fires.
My first thought as well.
There was a report of an illegal being arrested for starting at least one of them.
and no federal assistance.
Not much released on the guy that started a fire.
The truly sad part of all of this is Ca had an advantage of seeing how other states did with cannabis first, and failed to establish a commercial hemp category.
Original Levis were made from hemp. see

I hope the firefighters don’t get “high” from fighting those pot fires.
The cartels freaking did it.
they didn’t like the competition.
what would you expect from people who chop each other up with chainsaws..?
The MexiCartel snuffing out rivals?
That stuff grows like weed. They will be back in business quickly. The drug cartels will take care of supply and demand just as they always have.
I bet it was Liberals that change Forest Fires to Wildfires
Burn em all. Legalizing pot is a bad idea.
