A Democratic congresswoman responded to the allegations against Harvey Weinstein by saying that women also have a responsibility to stop sexual assault and harassment.
"I grew up in a time when it was as much the woman's responsibility as a man's—how you were dressed, what your behavior was," Texas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson told Dallas' local NBC5.
"I'm from the old school that you can have behaviors that appear to be inviting. It can be interpreted as such," Johnson continued. "That's the responsibility, I think, of the female."
Interviewer Diana Zoga asked if it was time to stop asking about what women were wearing and to start talking about the power that men abused.
"I think we also need to start talking about the power that women have to control the situation," Johnson responded.
"There's law enforcement, you can refuse to cooperate with that kind of behavior. I think that many times, men get away with this because they are allowed to get away with it by the women," she concluded.

It's true enough that the women who were taken advantage of were intimidated. But it wasn't by male domination, but by the domination of the culture of license, in which most of them had been accomplices. It is an atmosphere of no rules and no chastity--because rules and customs and vows are oppressive and uncool. Well guess what's actually oppressive: amoral, anti-moral tyrants like Weinstein who steal what they want and treat women like trash.
This sex 'n drugs atmosphere exists within our culture, in show business, and in the heads of women who don't feel allowed to treat their own bodies and their own futures with respect. They've been fooled. They've been browbeaten over the decades by the anti-Christian Left and shown that it is against the "new rules" to use common sense.
Not to cooperate requires courage, principle, class--and a confident knowledge of human nature.
Theoretically, a woman should be able to walk naked through central park at midnight without being molested.
That does not make it wise. And no one would be gob smack surprised if she were molested.
Likewise, I should be able to leave a stack of money on a bench all night in my front yard.
That doesn’t make it wise.
Do I bear any responsibility if some or all is missing the next morning?

Yes, but all of us now living, are living in a time when women can, and should, carry weapons for self defense.
Imagine the look on Harvey Weinstein’s face if he tried to grab ‘n’ rape some young lovely, who then proceeded to put a bullet through his fat thigh?

Well stated - can’t improve on a thing - just want to add that adage about a broken clock being right twice a day, but in this case, the woman is 100% correct. We older female dinosaurs have a duty to tell young women they can’t play Satan’s Game forever without getting into a world of hurt. Only the hard-core delusionals think you can beat God-given human nature. Don’t help these predators by acquiescing... easier said than done when fame/power/boredom/$$$$ “trump” everything. Deplorables - Teach your children well!
To a certain extent, she is correct. The way a woman dresses has a definite effect on the type of man she attracts, and smart women have known this for ages.
One can never go wrong by dressing with self-respect and modesty.
You don’t have to buy a llama if you get the fur for free.
I should be able to walk through a tough neighborhood flashing a wad of cash, and not worry about getting mugged.

Sorry, people have never had a constitutional right to walk around naked, saying, in effect, “F-you if you don’t like it.” Dress codes promote civility and sexual self-restraint, as our ancestors were smart enough to know.
If only her logic could begin to extend to the problems of criminality in her community, maybe we could begin to stop the wholesale slaughter of young black men at the hands of their peers.
