Exactly. And saying that a person volunteers to serve in the military knows that they may have to make the ultimate sacrifice, or that they know what they were getting into, is not an insult in my opinion. I’m sure the President would not make a call to insult the young man or his wife.
If he used that sentence, “He knew what he was getting into”, the follow on was,... “...and he went anyway.”
