Well, you can’t blame the guy for going on the show that offers the most bucks... Why give your story to the NYT when The Enquirer will give you 10 grand? This is his 10 minutes of fame and he has to make the most of it, before sliding back into oblivion. Hell, ICE might very well be waiting for him outside the studio door, ready to say, in their best ‘Mr. Wizard’ voice, ‘Time for this one to go home!’
I would think most of us, upon realizing our experience might be worth a few bucks would do the same thing.
Christmas isn’t cheap.
Campos seems to have been offered a deal to go silent after this interview. Ellen plays up the sympathy angle instead of any full cooperation angle— apparently pre-agreed.
It seems to me that someone got to Campos. Perhaps they agreed to pay Campos a lot of money to duck legitimate investigative journalists and news sources and go silent after this sham Ellen interview.
I don’t give Campos a year to live. The guy seems relatively intelligent. He should be aware of the dangers. I suppose the guy will probably transfer the money to his family in a trust and wait for a time when his back is turned for the the lights to go out. Maybe they threatened his family.
Side note, he rolls his r’s, so perhaps he was born in a hispanic speaking country, or at least in a predominantly hispanic speaking environment.
Well, you cant blame the guy for going on the show that offers the most bucks...
The whole thing was just strange...
