They made sense before the Weinstein scandal
Yes! His values made sense before. It just shows you how depraved liberals really are. Their minds are sick. I have the same policy. I will not go anywhere alone with another woman. I won’t meet behind closed doors with another woman.
And while we’re sort of on the topic of objectifying women, can we stop declaring a woman not guilty because she looks good?
This reminds me of something I heard from Billy Graham. When he became a Pastor he set two non-negotiable rules for himself as leader of the church: 1) Never be alone with any woman other than my wife and 2)Never touch or have access to the money.
Yes. Pence’s rules made sense before all this. Not just morally, but legally and common-sense wise.Too many women making false claims these days. A false allegation against you and your career may be over despite there being no evidence to support the charge.
Ehhh...no.
True, the hip left laughed at him.
Mike Pence’s values used to be America’s values.
I understand the part about resisting temptation by removing temptation, but Pence’s rule makes sense for defensive purposes also...as a gathering wave of false accusations prepares to break over male bosses everywhere.
Don’t put yourself in a situation where some conniving female can falsely accuse you of harassment.
Most pastors use the same methods to keep their job and family safe. Nothing new about this or particularly insulting.
The response from the left to the Pence story should have convinced everyone that a lot of people in this country don’t even belong on the same planet.
I know a pastor who will not get on elevator if the female is alone even if he is accompanied by someone else.
Downright Victorian in a role reversal way.
I’m about the same. I think the last time I was alone at all with another woman was at least 6 years ago and that was driving to a meeting.
There have been a couple times I’ve had to travel for work with a female colleague. Outside of traveling to the customer and maybe a quick dinner, I would avoid being alone. I never asked for their hotel room number and in some cases, never even had their cell phone number. “Meet you in the lobby at 7.”
I work in a make dominated field and my department is all guys. I can go entire weeks without even speaking to other women besides my wife and maybe my daughters.
"Who never did a slander forge, his neighbor's fame to wound,
Nor hearken to a false report, by malice whispered round.
Who vice, in all its pomp and power, can treat with just neglect;
And piety, though clothed in rags, religiously respect.
Who to his plighted vows and trust has ever firmly stood,
And though he promise to his loss, he makes his promise good.
Whose soul in usury disdains his treasure to employ,
Whom no rewards can ever bribe the guiltless to destroy.
The man who, by this steady course, has happiness insur'd,
When earth's foundations shake, shall stand, by Providence secur'd." - Thomas Jefferson, February 21, 1825, Letter to Thomas Jefferson Smith

Not to the left, they don’t.
You seem to be suffering from a severe case of satire deficiency syndrome.
The whole “guilty/not-guilty” shtick amounts to a satirical commentary on the fact that attractive women are often given a pass, where an unattractive woman (or any man) would have received punishment.
I get the satire, but I think it’s gotten to be a bit of a cliche.
You’re right about that.
