PM Tsipras looking for strong relations with the US, as a reliable alternative to US tensions with Turkey.

Tsipras has already scored points with the Trump Admin by exceeding the 2% of GDP @POTUS wants all @NATO allies to spend on defense.

Though in 2016, Tsipras publicly voiced concern about Trump's election, telling Greece: "I hope this bad thing doesn't befall us."
