I just find this whole thing laughable because the leftists in Hollywood are still propping up criminals as heroes while this is going on, Hillary Clinton is one example. Bill Clinton is another, someone who did the same exact crap as Harvey and he is celebrated and Harvey is destroyed.
AFAIK, this explosion started Oct. 5 at the New York Times. That makes me believe Hillary might be behind it, and that in any case it’s politically motivated as it it shouldn’t be a surprise.

Simple: Harvey Weinstein has a lot of enemies in the movie industry. They'll never forgive him for the way he "worked the system" for Oscar nominations--in fact, AMPAS changed their nomination rules because of Weinstein's heavy-handed tactics.

Reportedly Ronan Farrow began work on his serious investigative piece (which ended up in the New Yorker) around 10 months ago. This is the piece which reported instances of actual (physical) rapes and assaults, not only verbal “sexual harassment.”
Supposedly Ronan Farrow (son of Mia Farrow) truly loathes Woody Allen for what was done to (Ronan’s) sisters.
That kind of knowledge of one predator being protected by Hollyweird might well be plenty of motivation for an enterprising journalist (there are a few in the world) to take notice when hearing stories about Harvey Weinstein.
The NY Times piece, even though it came out a few days earlier than Ronan Farrow’s article in the New Yorker, seems to have begun life later in the year (according to the rumor mill) and was definitely more “sanitized” (i.e., only discussed “harassment” and not rape/assault, as far as I recall).
Thus, there is some basis for suspecting that the NY Times piece was actually a desperate attempt by someone to innoculate and take the sting out of the more serious investigation by Ronan Farrow. On that view, the NY Times chose or was manipulated into trying to get a somewhat sanitized version of the story out first. That would be an attempt at “damage control” — however desperate it turned out to be. They may not have known exactly what Ronan Farrow “had” (he got some women to talk to him who don’t seem to have been talking to the NY Times).
The Ronan Farrow article may also be “merely” an exercise in liberal damage control, I don’t know. Someone on another thread claimed I am too sympathetic to Ronan Farrow. I don’t actually have any feeling about him one way or another, but my understanding is that he is genuinely appalled by Woody Allen as sexual predator, and has written and spoken against Woody Allen in public. All I am saying about that is that Ronan Farrow may in fact be genuinely appalled and may have been a major driving force behind all of this coming to light now. Who/what may have been feeding it to Ronan Farrow, well, that story would require parsing everything that has come out and trying to determine whose interest it was that this fracas emerge at this particular time.
