Sounds like Mr. Weinstein is ‘sending a message’ to any other women (or men) who are considering ‘speaking up’. He’s saying “I have friends...”.

I’m with you on your point. True addiction, IMHO, means when you stop the drug/alcohol... your body goes into shock/DT’s/etc.. That is why people who are truly addicted MUST seek medical attention for the Detox.. or they could die. It seems that today’s culture allows any moral failing to be called an addiction (therefore, it is a disease and not the person’s choice). Sex addiction used to be called other things like “deviant” or “perv”. Someone who stole was a thief. Someone who cheated was an adulterer/adulteress. Just my 2 cents...
Rehab? There are no therapies for pervs. Its’ a scam.

If having a 12 step group helps people stop random compulsive indiscriminate sex action, that’s great. It’s a compulsion beyond the normal urge to have sex.
It’s like food addiction. We are humans, not beasts. Beasts eat what is in front of them and screw anything in heat in their species. We have our frontal lobes and morality. We need to choose our sex partners and times well, and same with food. A married man can go on a vacation with his wife and have sex 5 times a day. But it is wrong for the same married man to have sex five times a days with strangers at work or on the way home.
It’s not an actual addiction. It’s a compulsion and should be called that. If the programs were worth their salt, they would ask the person joining to make sure he told EVERYONE, especially potential hookups, that he has a compulsion to random sex. This will make having sex with him seem very unsavory. It will help him not arouse people but turn them off from him which would be good. “Hi, I’m a sexual compulsive,” makes the other person realize how nothing the coupling is to him.
The reporter stated that Weinstein has NOT yet checked into the rehab facility because it does not allow patients to bring in cell phones.
This may be true, as it doesn't make sense that Weinstein would be at an outdoor restaurant wining and dining right after being checked into rehab. Who knows !!!

Jeez. I had lunch at Uncle Sal’s just the other day. Didn’t spot Weinstein, though.
I think there’s a broad range of issues out there including the financial issues covered by groups like Gamblers Anonymous, Debtors Anonymous for another example.
Credit cards have been maxed into the ground and Dave Ramsey is working with folks on their debt issues galore.
Money spent on drugs, booze, porn, prostitutes and the list goes on contribute to the financial issues.
The “addicts” turn into thieves because the money went down the drain for all of the above mentioned items and more.
I am the circles of those who identify with being drunk and often call themselves “addicts” and I’ve heard their stories and their issues and their involvement in the various groups.
And of course I know my own issues and yes my own experience includes spending too much money and eating too much to “feel better”.
One thing I like about working the steps and staying sober is weight loss. I’ve seen 35-40 pounds go away in the last nine years.
The way I work is a big factor but also the way I’ve changed how I eat and why I eat is also in the picture.
My gut or lack of one in my case tells me that sanity and sobriety in drugs (including the prescription ones), booze, lust, food, money etc. etc. would really address “obesity” as dramatized and moaned about by the politicians and media.
I would’ve gone to Giuseppe’s. Much better Italian food, and closer to my house. Maybe they wouldn’t let his pig ass through the door. In any event, he’s no more of a pig than Clinton.
I love Giuseppe’s.
