Trump: 'We're saying merry Christmas again'
By Ben Kamisar - 10/13/17 11:04 AM EDT
President Trump reignited the "war on Christmas on Friday, telling a crowd of supporters that "we're saying merry Christmas again" now that he's president.
Speaking to a packed crowd at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., Trump argued political correctness has gotten in the way of celebrating the holiday.
Were getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people dont talk about anymore. They dont use the word Christmas because its not politically correct," he said to strong applause and cheers from the audience at the Christian public policy conference, sponsored by the Family Research Council.
You go to department stores and theyll say 'Happy New Year,' or theyll say other things and itll be red, theyll have it painted. But they dont say well guess what? Were saying merry Christmas again.
Trump went on to briefly pivot toward his push to cut taxes, calling for tax reform as a "Christmas gift."
Trump has long seized on the war on Christmas as a way to strengthen his support among evangelicals and Christian conservatives who, until two years ago, might have viewed the Manhattan real estate mogul warily.

This is a sign that the Left is on their knees......FINALLY.
Thank you, Lord.
Can’t wait to see the WH all decked out. Hopefully, all that Kenyan crap and refrigerator art has been taken to the dump.
Methinks I will make a Christmas card of it to send out...and to a few leftie friends.
More icing on the winner’s cake!
Defeating Hitlery was all we needed, and we keep on getting more of what we want!
“Trump is the fox loose in the hen house.”
Foxes are the bad guys. I prefer to say that Trump is the Hen kicking Fox ass in the hen house!
Sony has a new Christian movie division. They’re doing well.
It appears that President Trump is turning Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals back on the Left. The NFL, Weinstein, EO gutting Obamacare, decertifying Iran deal, Rocket Man...I think this mention of Christmas is the next grenade tossed in the culture war. Flooding the zone.
Last year around Christmas I was leaving my bank and one the bank employees held the door open for me. He said “Happy Holidays” to me and I stopped and told him I wasn’t moving until he said the right words.
He said “Merry Christmas” and laughed as I walked out.
But Disney doesn't.
Thank God Donald J. Trump is President of the United States...
“Last year a visibly Muslim family came up, dropped some money in and said Merry Christmas.”
Then they are bad Muslims, according to the Koran and Hadiths.
I laugh when I hear liberals complain about Trump bringing up the “Merry Christmas” story again.
Yet, their anxiety attacks over this is proof that they are very well aware that they did indeed wage a war against using the ‘C’ word during the Christmas-NY celebrations.
So, I say, “Go, Donald, Go!” Merry Christmas is back in vogue again. Especially in the heartland!
we’re saying merry Christmas again.
Outstanding, however I for one never stopped wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Some didn’t like it and a few even said something about it, however they never stopped me from telling them again “MERRY CHRISTMAS” to your happy winter snowflake.
So the US Postal Service will actually have a Christmas stamp without the silly crap they’ve had in years past? I doubt that.
The post office always has a Madonna and child stamp as well as a couple of other Christmas designs.
I buy two to four hundred Madonna and Child stamp which usually lasts me til August.
Where I work, the only people I’m comfortable saying Merry Christmas to are blacks...they appreciate it, but far too many whites are ‘triggered’ by it.
However, in a city with extremely large Jewish populations such as Los Angeles and New York City, saying Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.
Teaching people that if the person appears to be offended, they might say they are sorry (apologize) and try Happy Hanukkah. Sorry folks, I will not a religion (Islam) that believes killing people in the name of God is just.
Or trying to exterminate the Jewish people.
Time to get off my soapbox.
