As usual, Heather is on the money. A long, but very powerful, article.
“There are only two races: the decent and the indecent.” —Viktor Frankl
No, some of us just waste our time with stupid questions.
A black person, the local bum, broke into my car last night.
Rifled and tossed the glove box and center console.
Am I rayciss?
Wait, don’t answer that, because I don’t care.
If the experiment does not randomly assign the “good” versus “bad” key associations to black versus white, the experiment itself is highly biased. The initial session is “training” the subject to associate the keys with “good” and “bad” and “white” and “black”, then using the result of the training to disparage the assessed individual.
IQ tests, like the SAT’s and LSAT’s, show about one standard deviation between black and white scores. That fact explains most of the inequalities.
BTW, IQ tests are culturally biased: They measure the cognitive skills needed to succeed in our culture.
I did not give you permission to include me in your “WE.”
The answer is “NO,” and don’t ask again.

Exactly. You have identified the flaw in the experimental design which completely destroys any validity of the results.
Moreover, since the reliability of the results is said to be low (the article does not give the exact reliability statistics) the validity cannot be high. Statistically, validity is always less than reliability.
So much time and money wasted on solving a problem while purposely avoiding the OBVIOUS cause which are blacks themselves. The data is abundant and easy to find, blacks are disproportionately involved in crime, prone to behaviors that lead to poor socio-economic and academic outcomes, and government dependency. These issues are NEVER factored into addressing the problems of the black community and racial disparity. Nor are the reams of data pointing to a persistent IQ gap independent of cultural bias. Instead resources are wasted trying to identify new forms of imaginary racism and bias.
If the ability and tendency to discern and acknowledge “intergroup differences in interests, abilities, cultural values, or family structure” lies deep within our brains, then it’s natural. And if it’s natural, it’s all good, right leftists? ;)
A racist who is “unconscious” is — I think can all agree - the “best kind” of racist. So this is a good thing?
Dr. Jordan Peterson brought this up a year ago - as well as how employers are doing unconscious bias training whether or not there is any evidence the person has any type of biases.

In Canada as well as a number of big U.S. companies, they are using “we know you’re racist, even if it isn’t evident, we just know it!” to inject far left politics, social justice, into the workplace.

Was reading some online discussions. In the UK, any dispute between white and black is classified as a hate crime, even in cases where the black person says no, it was personal, no, race wasn’t involved as a factor, he was just mad and screaming at me.
It is about how in the name of fairness, the perceived social hierarchy of the 1950s has to be inverted and the great grandchildren of the supposed perpetrators need to be systematically oppressed to offset their unfair privilege.
And they need to be told how they are unfairly advantaged and need to internalize collective guilt to willingly sink to the bottom tier of a new social structure that treats them like untouchable caste members, inherently immoral by their very blood.
Nice summary. Some of the methodology flaws are obvious. Nice to see that they are finally getting looked at.
