I am not in the military, nor am I a veteran. However logic dictates that there is simply no way that females are being brought into combat roles on a totally impartial basis. Even if officers and NCOs actually tried to do so, the overwhelming pressure to make this work shades the perception of the individual soldier's performance. The irrefutable advantages of male physical strength that come into play in harrowing combat situations, which frankly I as a male doubt I'd deal well with, are overlooked or brushed aside in peacetime.

I know there are a lot more physical men than myself, and one of the things you think of is would I be a big plus or a hindrance in a tough situation?

I’m sure they would have trained me well in the day, but I couldn’t function as I would need to today.

There are times when I wish I could. I think about the military and whether I’d like to go or not.
