The 248 Republican officials serving in Washington who are up for election in 2018 are facing a deeper and more frightening version of the threat that has haunted GOP senators and representatives since the rise of the Tea Party in 2009: populist ouster from inside their own camp.
How much jeopardy does the rights internal turmoil put them in? This may be the wrong question. The real issue may be how much jeopardy they think they might be in and what they might do to stave it off as a result.
This would seem to be a strange moment for such upheaval, since Republicans control the House and the Senate as well as the White House.
Conventional wisdom suggests the GOP and its supporters should work to build on these majorities rather than expend unnecessary energy (and money) on a civil war, state by state and district by district.
But we live in unconventional times.

IMHO.
As soon as Bannon gets a credible organization up and running and is backing a slate of candidates, I’ll be making a sizable donation.
Feinstein will be 85 when the votes are cast. Good God, doesn’t anyone think this is not in the best interest of the country? As is it looks like scene from an assisted living center when McConnell, Cornyn, and Pelosi walk to the cameras.
They ALL need to go. They will be shown the door or they will be pushed out! The American people don’t want their sorry, useless asses! 7 years they LIED to us and there will be zero forgiveness!
Well said
But, but, but Traitor Corker is against deficit spending...
Podhoretz continues to prove he is a CINO RINO POS.
Yep. What will he do when Bannon’s plans work out? I’m sure he’ll retire........../s
The GOPe didn’t produce any legislature, they need to go.
I use to like Podhoretz.
Bannon is the head of the RNC & Republican Party.
I hope he can control more of the money.
BEST ELECTION EVA !!!
They created this atmosphere themselves. If Obamacare repeal and replace had been passed as promised, Luther Strange would have just won that primary and many of the other incumbents facing shaky futures at present would be on much more solid ground. They didn’t even repeal a portion of it...if you can’t get the whole thing get as much as you can...instead they have done nothing. What exactly do they expect? The voters to be pleased with them?
Your copy paste list continues to say some of the most reliably conservative members of the Senate are Democrats in R Jerseys and some of the least reliable aren’t on your list.

I would actually discount Luther Strange’s standing as he hasn’t been in there long enough to have a track record that is statistically valid.
Bannon needs to make sure he is getting his “game plans” from God.
Sasse is the only one who could be called conservative, but his NeverTrumpism gets him on the list.
I’d bet the farm Bannon does better than Carl Rove did a few years ago when he took 150 million in donations to support his field of candidates and failed with every election he got involved in.
Waaaay past time to drain the d.c. Swamp.
The voters will decide the outcome.
GOPe is so out of touch with reality.
I expect they'll use the typical scare tactics of "who can win", etc. Pray that people don't fall for it. I want those bloated bastards to rue the day they flipped us the bird with nO-care.
