Full title.......................Journalist says New York Times killed her Harvey Weinstein story in 2004 after pressure from Matt Damon, Russell Crowe...........................Journalist Sharon Waxman is accusing the New York Times of killing a story that documented Harvey Weinstein's mistreatment of women more than a decade ago.
Set off by a New York Times article that attacked Weinstein's "media enablers" in the wake the paper's revelations about his history of miconduct, Waxman, founder and CEO of TheWrap, described her frustrating experience reporting on his behavior for the New York Times 13 years ago. In a Sunday article, Waxman said "she got the green light to look into oft-repeated allegations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein" back in 2004, an assignment that took her to both London and Rome where she apparently uncovered legitimate evidence pointing to the producer's pattern of abuse.

I’m guessing NYT’s recent Weinstein “discovery” was low hanging fruit about to hit the ground.
Damon is denying it happened this way. His explanation does make some kind of sense.
It’s hard to decide who would most likely be the bigger liar, a NYT’s reporter or Damon.

Tried to post this a while ago but it was from Zero Hedge which is banned for some reason and just said to hell with it.
So does Sharon Waxman deserve a break for at least trying? Or is she just as complicit as the rest because she knew all about Weinsteins acts for years and did not expose him even after she started “The Wrap” and had no one to keep her from doing so?

He was just doing a solid for a friend, sleazy but expected. As a so-called journalist, you’re supposed to know better and do better. HA! Look at me talking about journalistic ethics.
It doesn’t matter. Matt Damon trying to stop a story for his friend and boss is hardly something shocking.
This wench at the Times is releasing this information as if we’re supposed to think “OH NO MATT HOW COULD YOU” When in reality SHE is the bad guy in this scenario for actually squashing the story.
While the sum of the “Harvey Weinstein” saga may be correct, I am not sure that every report will be, or that every “source” that comes out now will be clean and not tainted by their own motives. I think Ms Waxman’s story is one that is not clean. She may have known what Weinstein was doing, but the rest of her tales may be inaccurate and self-serving.
Full disclosure - I am actually no Matt Damon fan, but I think he is being more honest than Ms Waxman is, as to what Ms Waxman is accusing him and Russel Crowe of.
He was the key fundraiser for dems, holding countless fundraisers for 0bama and his brthren. Wouldn’t surprise me if some of that pressure came from on high. Now Tha 0bama is gone and all the Queens horses couldn’t get humpty dumpy elected, they’re free to have him thrown to the wolves. At least it got the 0bamas to shut up for a bit. Hillary, too.
