I was a big fan of the sheriff at first but I’m starting to realize every single bit of misinformation can basically be traced back to him. Even throwing out his theories like “radicalization” without saying or giving us evidence WHY he thinks that. We all wanted to hear he was radicalized, but it doesn’t mean it was accurate.
Also saying “there is some evidence the shooter was planning on escaping”, that’s another tidbit the sheriff threw out there with no evidence to back up the comment. The 4 cops on 60 minutes when asked about the sheriff’s comment regarding escaping looked befuddled and said “I didn’t look like that it looked like he was ready for a shoot off/stand off with us”.
Lombardo repeated his claim about there being evidence that Campos planned to escape in tonight’s press conference.
Regarding the comment about having an exit strategy.
When I first heard it, I couldn’t help thinking maybe he had an accomplice who though the exit strategy was so good that he took it and left the shooter in his place.
I have a sneaky suspicion that movie plots like Ocean’s Eleven, the Professional, Catch Me If You Can, etc,. must linger for years in the back minds of many a Vegas gambler and professional.
It seems like a common element in those movies is the ability to pose a very public distraction, while walking away free from the crime as though they are law enforcement or a first responder.
While reality is quite different than the movies, I suspect those who are most likely to be mass murderers, were suckered into thinking they were removing evil or a cog in a machine.
Any other major casino robberies ongoing at the time of the shooting?
