Both fire and floods are very scary!!!

Indeed! Last night it was very windy. I'm in South San Francisco. Opened my patio window to check on things because the wind was blowing, and smelled a bunch of smoke. I thought it was grass burning in my neighborhood from a neighbor. Surprised the smoke came all the way from wine country. My sister and her husband live in a $2mil home on a wooded hill in Sonoma, trees everywhere. So far they're okay. But no way they can move many pieces of antiques, some of it French 1700s chairs, cabinets and tables, as well as early 1900s cameras and lamps on stands. Her husband trades in antiques, both are in their 70s. If their home goes up in flames, so does a lifetime of collecting antiques.

I don't like how some Freepers wish ill of Californians, when most of the sickos came here from elsewhere and ruined politics for all of us (like Nancy Baltimore Pelosi). Still a great many conservatives here, despite the loons around us. Was at Fleet Week festivities in SF this weekend, lots of normal people and families in evidence. Someday we'll take back California from the dems.

Agreed—I think I have scolded most of them off this thread ;)

I have relatives who have lived there for over 50 years—and they don’t appreciate the stereotyping. As I stated in another post, my son is in Bay area and spouse may be joining him for a temporary job opportunity...all conservatives.

I have friends there too. All conservatives.

However, I think it is so nasty to wish anyone ill based on their politics—no matter how hideous those politics are. Some people are so insensitive and bitter—I actually feel sorry for them.

Hope your sister stays safe!!! I collect antiques, and some truly are are irreplaceable. My thoughts and prayers for all there—especially the seniors and those in hospitals they had to evac...just cannot imagine going through that.

Fregards!

I don’t wish them ill but forgive me if I’m not feeling all supportive and sympathetic to them after some of the utterly sickening comments I both saw and heard from Californians in the aftermath of the Las Vegas massacre.

Right and let’s remember California voted AGAINST welfare for illegal aliens (and were told it was unconstitutional by the Courts) and AGAINST homosexual marriage (and were told it was unconstitutional by the courts).

We have abysmally bad governors and legislators who are destroying the courts but that’s likely because we have illegal aliens voting and being given sanctuary

AGAINST OUR WILL

I can’t apologize for our horrible voting in all instances just pointing out that real Californians have been largely disenfranchised.

Even 10% of San Francisco voted for Trump, and that’s when no one thought he could possibly win. I think he has 15% support even in San Francisco, really.
