He was a gun runner who laundered his cash into tokens, and then took the value back later as a casino check.
This is every-day stuff in Vegas.

I agree that this guy didn’t earn $5m playing video poker in a year, I follow pro poker players (Texas Hold “em - no limit). It’s tough to win that kind of money in that game of SKILL in a good year, unless you win the WSOP championship. Video poker is a game of luck with the house getting well over 50%.
This guy was a pro assassin or drug runner who laundered money through gambling.
The question is who paid him.
As soon as I saw the guy’s background I immediately figured he was laundering money that was from some kind of illicit business operation, but I’m not sure his business involved arms trafficking. I’ll have to see some more information to support this theory.
