Widespread civil unrest isn’t really plausible in the US at current unemployment rates and demographics. You need more young men (aged 16-25) and in particular more unemployed young men in order to have any kind of widespread or sustained civil unrest.

There was a report published last summer indicating that 59,000 people in the U.S. died of drug overdoses in 2016. I suspect most of those were in that demographic group that would be ripe for insurrectionists.

We don't stage revolts in this country. We just overdose ourselves out of existence.
