Not really. I haven’t heard am M-60 in about 45 years but it sure sounded like one to me and some others here.
Of course the acoustics distorted the sound.
Exactly. I travel very frequently and that is my standard procedure upon entering the room, to put out the Do Not Disturb sign. I will take it down maybe once a week if on extended stay to replenish towels and freshen the room. I just don't want strangers in my room, period.
I guess that luxury is fixing to change though.

I always leave that sign on the door when I’m at a hotel, no matter if I’m inside or away. I can make my own bed.

Yeah, if I invite somebody, I tell ‘em to knock despite the sign or just call when when they’re coming up.
This dude had hunting and fishing licenses, including one in Alaska and he has two planes. That means he had buddies, at least one or two, and, flight plans. We might learn a lot from them, or not. According to CHRON, he also worked for Central Park Apartments of Houston.. So far, the crumbs of his trail have led from Melbourne, FL, to Houston, to Las Vegas with some possible California.

I hope that we learn answers to such questions (about the alleged perp) as these:
— what were his previous political associations?
— is there any actual contact with religious zealots?
— what is the role of drugs in producing his mental state?
— did he have any prior diagnosis of mental illness and was he under any form of treatment either recently or in the past few years?
— who knew in advance of his potential to carry out this act?
— are there any reasonable grounds to suspect that the alleged perp is a patsy set up by others for whatever reasons?
Until we know any of the above, we basically know very little about this action.
I am sure we will learn of plenty of footprints in the coming days and months. He may not have used social media (at 64, it isn't that unusual), but there are plenty of other details that will emerge about him. The event occurred only a few hours ago.
I have only seen the one showing his upper body. Pilots usually have many photos of their planes and their trips. Many sportsmen have a great deal of photos in various places.
Good one. Some idiot gun grabber will probably say that.
