This is so off base. Think of all the children who would forever love reading if they were given a book from the First Lady to add to their home libraries. If they weren't something this maniacal librarian would put on her shelves, why not gift them to those students who don't have the resources at home?

I can't help but wonder if this librarian who thinks Dr. Seuss is inappropriate is so offended by stuff of the "Susie wants to be a boy" ilk. For heaven's sake, Dr. Seuss stimulates the imaginations and promotes creative silliness. What could be more important for well-grounded intellectual growth, at all ages?

Someone should point out that Dr Seuss books are already in the school’s catalog and by failing to remove them the librarian is failing to root out racism, according to her own standards.

Oh wait, I just did.
