Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his allies are coming to grips with the fact that the next GOP colleague in their club is likely to be a conservative firebrand who the No. 2 Senate Republican just last week said would not be a reliable member of the conference.

Because it's always ok to vote with the democrats, because the goal is to thwart conservatism's advance.
But there must NEVER be additional CONSERVATIVE votes, because those disrupt what they're trying to do. Those ruin their little game.
Despicable!
Lamar! must be poking his nose south of his state border again. People in TN will always think Lamar! is legitimate just like the Arizonans with McPain.
The Senate needs about 80-85 Roy Moores. Keep 15-20 Leftists and RINOs to remind the citizenry of the true nature of Communism, corruption, and incompetence.
Sen. Roy Moore... Oh what a royal pain in McConnell’s ass he’s going to be. This is going to fun to watch!
The GOPe are now reduced to denial and dreaming that Alabama was a one-off.
So are McCain, the Maine/Alaska sisters, etc. reliable members of the caucus?
They are reliable vote for McConnell as Majority Leader. That's all that matters to him.
“Brace?” LOL. You would think The Hill has never heard of a Member of Congress who is a bit of a bombthrower and doesn’t march in step with the pack. It’s common enough. What Roy Moore will discover is that a Senator is one member of a bicameral committee of 535. He has to get a lot of people to agree with him if he wants to get anything done. Or he can be the crazy loner muttering to himself in the corner — better tak the one opposite from Bernie Sanders’ corner — about how everybody except me is nuts/corrupt/incompetent/a useless timeserver.
Many of them start out being OK. There was a time when Thune was fairly decent. Flake was once fairly decent, too. We’re stunned when they betray us because of that reliability in their early days.
My advice to Judge Moore: organize your own Senate staff. DO NOT accept “help” in this from McConnell/Cornyn. All you’ll get from them are moles and minders.
“See the mentality!”
Yes, unfortunately.
Alabama must never let their guard down. Remember Delaware and Mississippi.
Hope this President stays engaged.
After the eGOP invested so much money for their candidate :' Luther' ,
they can't be that ignorant, can they ?
The election wasn't a rejection of Trump
rather, it was Trumpism values that won the election
, rather than McConnell's eGOP chosen candidate.
My take from this election is that McConnell lost credibility as a leader(?),
and has shown how "out of touch" he is with local values, and needs to be sent out of Washington.
The caves and tunnels are as numerous as the swamp creatures ... Many of the swamp creatures know every inch of the caves and tunnels. Once most, if not each, is given the tour conformity becomes the tourers friend and constituience is forgotten. It’s the law of the d.c.
Roy Moore is the least of their problems! They better come to grips with with the idea of being unemployed if they do not repeal Obamacare, pass meaningful tax reform and immigration reform!
Prayers the People will ride ...
...”Sen. Roy Moore... Oh what a royal pain in McConnells ass hes going to be. This is going to fun to watch!”...
Looking forward to it. Just when we thought nothing could crack the stronghold of the establishment, Roy Moore’s ship came in and could mean that others will repeat his win to oust those who are Republicans in name only.
Wrong, Corkers gone, LeeMar is next.
McConnell needs to retire or be recalled...like yesterday.
The Republican part of the Senate, after their umpteenth vacation time, should oust McTurtle as leader!
My take from this election is that McConnell lost credibility as a leader(?),
and has shown how “out of touch” he is with local values, and needs to be sent out of Washington.
