As outfielder Mark Canha grew up in San Jose and attended Bellarmine High School and Cal. Saturday night, he put his left hand on the right shoulder of teammate Bruce Maxwell, who was the first big-league baseball player to take a knee during the national anthem. Maxwell, who grew up in a military family, cited his experiences with racism in Huntsville, Ala., where President Trump said this week NFL players should be fired for kneeling during the anthem. The As catcher took a knee again before Sundays game, again with his hand on his heart, again with Canha at his side.

So now they are going to try and wreck Baseball too?
Take your #FakeGrievances elsewhere
Not on my dime, bastards
Yea, Canha and Maxwell protested on Saturday and Sunday.
Here comes ANTIFA types after Baseball now.
I don’t care what they do or think off the field.
Military family and Cal don’t mix! He must have been the red headed step child!
Misread and posted. Canhahahaha is the one who went to Cal. Loser!!!!
Kind of like a white guy running for office passing out flyers in black neighborhoods saying, "I'd like all you n------ to vote for me!" Brilliant!
It’s not like NFL, there’s 162 games for some opposing pitcher to express his opinion about kneeling during the anthem. No one likes getting stuck with 90+ mph in the ribs.
Freegards
MLB better watch what happens to the NFL before they decide to cut their own throats.
In other good news, NHL Hockey starts soon.
“... wreck Baseball too?”
I’m anxious to see how much the next American Olympic teams hate America too.
I expect that in itself will be a new event. The next Dream Team will have illegal aliens, college snowflakes and Cap’n Kapernick lead our way to sure gold in competitive safe-space kneeling.
Between that and the gold in the Yes-I’m-Bi-athlon, the nations who field Olympic teams of real men won’t have a chance.
Good. One fewer sport to absorb my time, money, and attention.
(I just posted this on another thread, but it seems to be relevant on this one too.)
I put these billionaires complaining about oppression in the same category as Celebrities flying their personal jets all over the planet haranguing me to use only one square of toilet paper at a time to save the earth.
I’ve never cared for hockey, but I’m about to become a fan. I will not watch pro football and if they start this garbage in MLB, I’ll stop watching that, too.
Major League Baseball has lost ground to the NFL over the last few decades but can come out on top by putting a stop to this idiocy right now.
Forbid this genuflecting to the false racist narrative and promote patriotism and Americanism.
Many sport starved disillusioned NFL fans will be there for the picking at the start of baseball next spring.
Police brutality is still an issue, however. It’s not going to go away.
Good luck on the new stadium!
Screw all you overpaid prima donnas
