DENVER (KKTV) - A social media firestorm has one Colorado car dealership looking to clarify a decision to pull TV ads featuring Von Miller a day after he chose to kneel during the national anthem.
"We support Von and his first amendment rights, we know Von and he's a good person," part of the statement issued by Phil Long Dealerships on Monday.
Miller is one of about 200 players who took part in a protest for a show of unity over President Donald Trump's stance on kneeling during the national anthem. Miller took a knee alongside dozens of other players in the league during the anthem, others raised their fist in response to Trump's calls for players to be fired.

People need to take a stand.
This is not a first amendment issue.
It is a work-place issue.
These people are just unhinged.
Why do I get the feeling these people are about to cave ?
Covering themselves from a law suit.
If he is a good guy then why is he saying that America’s cops are racist murderers?
This is a BLM protest and it is a lie.
Add to the boycott pile
You like racist cop killers over patriotic Americans
It’s the national anthem for crying out loud, stand on your hind legs like a man.
Huge pressure (probably to include threats to themselves and immediate family) would cause this. The right may have the guns, but it’s the left that is able to strong-arm individuals and businesses.
Its actually illegal to not properly handle the National Anthem.
If I lived in Colorado I would not buy a car from Phil Long dealerships.
Thanks for the mention and the link.
This dealership wants to play both sides of the fence.
Boycott this dealership.
These people are so nutless! Making a half hearted stand and then immediately going limp. Their poor wives and girlfriends.
Sounds like Phil Long Dealerships is going for the buy-here-pay-here trade....
> “We support Von and his first amendment rights,”
The 1st says THE GOVERNMENT can’t punish him for speaking for himself.
It says nothing about forcing any person or business to let him speak for them. He has NO rights to your money if he’s not saying what you want him to say.
But, I can see why a business would not want his supporters to start “using their 1st amendment” against them. His supporters no doubt “speak” with rocks, guns, and fire.
So they are walking back their previous decision? No testicles at Phil Long.
You might as well can his ass . . after this about face, you’ve pissed off so many customers and prospects you’ll need to cut costs to try and compensate
They have Dealerships in Colorado Springs home of tons of Active Duty and lots of Veterans, lets here what happens
