There is a real possibility this could turn into locker room brawls. I can understand the coaches having bit of a hard time facing that problem.

It wouldn’t surprise me if that was what was on this coaches mind. He didn’t want other players getting P.O.d and going after Villanueva. Of course V is 7.9 tall, and weighs 277, so I think he can take care of himself, especially with his military training. Still, nobody wants bad blood in the locker room.

What’s frustrating about this, is that at every turn they seem to lean over backwards to make sure the kneelers don’t get upset. They don’t give a flying “F” about loyalist players.

The inmates are running the asylum.

Coaches, owners, the league,... “Yes fellas, and how high?”

Jumping is the new NFL side sport.

Not good.

The black folk have a tribal think and don’t like it when you don’t join in. A fellow vet from the Vietnam related a story about being in the wrong area of the camp in Thailand and getting beat up by blacks including a professed friend. The black friend apologized later and said he had to do it his bros were there too. Tribal think!

6’9”, 320 lbs. I have a feeling Mr. Villanueva does whatever he wants to do. Good on him.
He’s the kind of player I, uh, looked up to when I played pee wee football. The rest? meh

“Still, nobody wants bad blood in the locker room.”

You are entirely correct, and it is due to extremely weak leadership on the part of the coaches/owners. These players have to perform as a team, of course, and by not stepping up and stopping protests, it places the players who do not protest at odds with the ones who do. What quarterback wants to throw a pass to a receiver who is secretly nursing grudges, or hand off to a back with the same attitude?
