Coach Tomlin says that he respects the decision of his players to not appear for the national anthem. Yet he expresses clear disappointment with the decision Villanueva made to appear. So I guess player decisions are respected only when they fit the PC narrative.

So many on the right talk a good game. It took a pro football player to actually take the risk.
Didnt they loose anyway? What was the point of the game?
The Steelers didn't loose the game. But they did lose the game.
6’9”, 320 lbs. I have a feeling Mr. Villanueva does whatever he wants to do. Good on him.
He’s the kind of player I, uh, looked up to when I played pee wee football. The rest? meh
That’s how lose is spelled here, ya noobian wonder.
Welcome to FR. Now, get us all sammiches!
And move your beeber.
More like baboon tribe think. There is no "think", it is primitive animal behavior.
Wild animals should be dealt with in "human" interactions the same as in the wild. Kill without prejudice or hesitation. They WILL kill you when in packs.
Sad it has come to this, sixty years ago, pre- "Great Society" it was not so bad. Our HS football game at negro high schools were dodgy, but not open warfare as now.
Your post gave me cnacer of the covfefe.

stuned the heck out of me.
I had to check if I was logged on.
And not undead.
I mean, NNNgggg!!
Tomlin was trying to have it be a team thing, that whatever they did they all had to do. They couldn’t agree on what that should be so he decided to keep ALL the players off the field, apparently not realizing that this would be just as much a statement as anything else they might have done.
I don’t know what motivated Villanueva to go against that, I doubt he’s a Trump supporter so I don’t think he was trying to be political. I choose to believe he stood and honored the flag because (a) he’s been shot at while wearing it on his shoulder and (b) he’s seen other men die because they were wearing it on theirs. And Sunday was Gold Star Mothers Day.
that’s okay, United States is going to be involved in a big war with North Korea and Iran soon, and all of this small-time BS will be like nothing. At which time those that do not stand with their country, well they will have a rather difficult time in their lives. We true American Patriot can guarantee that. As for now let them have their fun. They probably won’t be around long.
They’re circling the wagons; reminiscent of the OJ verdict when they cheered.
Just made it a point of not watching, got better things to do, like home improvements.
lol
Yep
This whole thing is at its core just an extension of the Hollywood celebrity social activism: A bunch of otherwise unemployable nitwits subconsciously aware that their chosen profession is of zero real world value, so they attempt to compensate by inventing causes to make themselves feel relevant and important.
Villanueva is more of man than all of the steeler pussies put together, including the coaching staff.
Are we going to let a bunch of overpaid punk thugs bully us, or are going to stand up for America and say enough is enough?
#boycottNFL
We should call the Pittsburgh Steelers that “Pittsburgh Rusterbelt”. Hope they lose all their games. It is time for all decent Americans to stand UP for their country, not take a coward’s knee for diversity crap.
Never put the unity of your team over the unity of the nation where there are no time-outs. Freedom isn’t a game.
At a time like this maybe the spelling police could take a break and go get a donut or something?
People make that mistake all the time. Why not just ignore it and focus on something important?
Since you had nothing at all to add to the thread but criticism over a slight misspelling it makes you look like a jerk.
Of course he was. But his owner was even a bigger one. The late lamented Dan Jr. was Obama’s ambassador to Ireland. You gotta kiss some serious ass for a post like that.
