Well, I am the same! I love languages. I would love to add Spanish to the French I know. Really, I could use a refresher course in French as well. It’s been 30 years since college French class. My sister took French in high school, and still loves what she learned. Sometimes we use the French we still remember when we talk. We always say that if we went to France (which we won’t anymore) we could get along fine because we know how to ask for all the essentials. Like “where is the bathroom?”. LOL. “Ou est le W.C.?” And we could order food and find lodging.
Someday, maybe I’d go to French Quebec. Try out the old French skills there. Who knows, sounds like an adventure!
Glad I found another language lover! I thought I was the only one!
Our Vietnam POWs devised a way to communicate with tapping on the floor. I guess they used rocks or something. While writing this, I decided to look it up. HERE (videos don't work)
This was the first time I have seen the method they used.
Surprising to me, is the knowledge that while tinkering here at my desk last year, I came up with something similar on my own. I wanted to be able to encode dates. I used a grid myself.
QIY is today's date. Y/M/D I find these sorts of things fascinating.
Take care.
