Statement From NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell 2017 REGULAR ENGLISH
The following statement is in response to President Donald Trumps comments last night...
STATEMENT FROM NFL COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL
The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture. There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we've experienced over the last month. Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.
The NFL has lost track of the fact that they are in the entertainment business.
An NFL game is like live theater and the players are the cast.
And just like other entertainers, when their heads get too big and they turn on the fans, the fans will abandon them.
Remember the Dixie Chicks?
The government might have the power to force us to buy Obamacare.
But it does not yet have the power to force us to buy NFL tickets or watch their games on TV.
These NFL BLM protester types could give themselves a PR boost if they compared Hillary crimes and the lack of justice to innocent black children being murdered by cops.
Screw him and his non answer!
It's a pathetic response, sort of like Fidel Castro responding to charges of humanitarian violations by pointing out that his government sent money to an earthquake relief fund.
Trump did not tweet. He gave a MAGA speech last night and said he would fire “The son of a bitches”’ that took a knee.
MAGA
Yes. The country needs to love God and to keep his commandments.

Talk about lack of proportion! He’s complaining about disrespecting the frigging NFL when they ate disrespecting the United States of America.
America made the NFL, not the other way around.
Mussolini made the trains run on time, so criticism of any other aspect of Italian fascism would be divisive.
And don’t forget, Hitler approved production of the VW, so he’s good too.
‘The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country’
Whenever they say “unity” they mean “shut up and agree with me”.
By permitting players to celebrate a play with the Black Power Fist the NFL will soon find the playing field
turned into a war zone between black racists and whites who don’t buy into the racist/anti-American agenda.
Or...
Up your Goodel
I am worried about the NFL. It is a key component the the “bread and circuses” policy to placate the general unwashed populace.
RG just nailed the final spike in the NFL’s coffin. No balls means no football watchin’ for American patriots!
Thats a great Idea. Maybe even ban it from AF TV and radio. Why watch a bunch of jerks disrespecting those who serve, served and died defending the same flag and anthem they spit on with their stupid behavior.
> Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL... <
And what pray tell about it deserves respect?
The spousal beatings or wholesale alienation of the fan base by spoiled millionaires?
Goodell said he respects the players right to make social or political statements during the anthem.
And the Presidents right? You’ve been out Trumped Goddell.
Sense of unity? Bull feathers. I’m glad my Dad isn’t here to see this sh## going on.
Hint: boycott the NFL!
