Solution in such a scenario: We will defend and recover NATO members countries from the Russians in direct proportion to their historical financial commitment to NATO. Oh, you didn’t spend the 2% you were supposed to for the past 30 years, instead you only spent .02%? Too bad, guess 90% of your populace needs to learn Russian.
Also, the methods used to recover the country will be determined by the historically stated preferences of said member nations. Those nations espousing “soft power” over all else will only have ‘soft power’ used to recover them. After all, you wanted us to only use that with others so I’m sure you’ll be fine with us using only that to try to free your people.
