The only thing worse that this ‘professor’ cobbling this course together is that the University sits back dumb, happily expressing their presumed white-guilt, just letting her do it. This infers their approval and endorsement of her concept. Shameful and self-defeating.

White privilege comes from acting white. It has little to do with skin color.
In college I refused to take a test. I put a note on it with my criticism on why it was a bad test. I received a B. It was an engineering class, though.

Yes, we are! Our women are beautiful on both the outside and the inside.
True in a way, but they are also providing information that will undoubtedly prove they have privilege, thus convicting them.

Someone on DU once described white privilege in a way I understood and agreed with. I didn’t agree with her “solution” - more money for schools/teachers so they can take care of kids from when they wake to when they go to bed. But the survey to see if anyone suffers from white privilege as she described it takes one questions
1) Did you grow up with 2 parents?
She literally understood that having 2 parents is critical to a child’s success (that was “white privilege” even if the kid is not white because it’s more likely with white kids) But after understanding that her solution is to give single-parent children the same advantages 2-parent children have. She even described how 2 parents (or teachers doing the same thing) would solve many of the “problems” in this checklist.
Blacks have far more opportunities than whites the way the rules have been changed to favor them. Most just don’t take advantage of their black privelege.
I am starting to find this all quite funny.
The only white people I know of that believe in white privilege are Nazis, white nationalists and the KKK.
I find it ironic that progressives actually agree with them.
In order to believe in white privilege you must believe that whites are genetically and intellectually superior and it gives them an unfair advantage in life.

Oops, I forgot to add two more personal statements of my “privilege”:

I could do this all day.
The twenty questions advocate segregation. In a majority white country, by definition, the majority will find themselves represented in the news, in history, and in many other ways. If you’re a race-conscious minority, and not very informed about history, you might suppose this means you’re from an inferior race and cannot compete with white people. Or, that somebody must be holding you down (which is another way of saying they’re superior to you, or else how could they be holding you down).
On the other hand, if you lived in a black neighborhood, and went to a black school, and read a black magazine, then you’d get all affirmation that you need that if o.k. to be a black person.
Having said this, black people are disproportionately represented in sports and culture. Anybody whose knowledge of this country is gleaned from watching our sports teams and from our music would be flabbergasted to find out that black people are only one-eighth of the population.
A person who is a race-conscious minority will have a difficult time dealing with the facts that most people of historical meaning will be of the white race. The truth is, Europeans discovered America, it wasn’t an Indian who discovered Europe. Leonardo de Vinci, Galileo, Sir Isaac Newton, Eli Whitney, Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers, and so forth, were white. We whites have been on a hot streak these past 500 years. Good for us. But, does this mean we’ll continue to have such success in science and business in the future?
I think they left some important questions out: if I rob from a convenience store, am I pretty sure I will rob from a store owned by somebody of my race? Since all convenience stores are run by Indians and Koreans, white people are as non-priviledged as black people.
Or, if I rape someone, am I pretty sure I’ll be raping somebody of my race. White men don’t rape black women (you can look this up), but black men rape both white and black women. Does this make black men less prejudiced than white men?
Notice that privilege has nothing to do with income or wealth. Just color. You could be poor white trash, attend underperforming schools, come from a broken family, be raised on welfare, and be fat as hell, and you’re privileged. Why? Because of skin color. On the other hand, your father could be a medical doctor and you could have a servant of the family drive you to a swank private school, and because you’re black, you don’t have privilege.
