Not entirely. Deporting the illegals already in the country is probably more important than a wall which is somewhat symbolic in nature. After all if you don't get rid of them they still have incentive to come and collect welfare that the rest of us provide via the plundered fruits of our labors.

Sorry, but if you’re in a leaking boat it gets really tire bailing until you plug the hole.
Throwing people out without being able to effectively close the door behind them is a fool’s mission, as is evidenced by the illegals who finally kill someone and bring real attention to themselves and we find our “government” has deported them a dozen or more prior times.
Without a secure border it does not matter how many you deport; they simply come right back. Border Patrol often catches the same illegals over and over. We must secure the border, with a real barrier to patrol and protect or the other things we do will not work.

Wrong.
The pols who make the same argument: Ryan, Obama and others—they don’t consider the walls surrounding their homes to be `symbolic’.
Our experience is that we deport illegals and with no real border security they `boomerang’ right back.
And the illegals committing the most crimes against Americans usually have been deported and then boomeranged right back. Kathryn Steinle’s killer had been deported five times.
The Border Patrol and ICE must get discouraged seeing the same criminals over-and over.
You are making the argument of the left: that it makes sense to bail a flooded basement with a sieve while failing to address the cause: mole holes.
She’s right as usual. No wall, no peace.
