Why exactly would he say until I give you the Revelation? I’m not sure I follow your logic. “Now man knoweth the day or the hour,” was a common Jewish saying. When a newlywed husband went to prepare his home for his bride his friends would often inquire about the bride’s expected arrival. “No man knoweth the day or the hour,” was the reply because everything had to be in its proper place for her to come. The takeaway was always that it was far into the future... Which, at that time, it was.
“Im not sure I follow your logic.”
My logic is that Jesus plainly stated that it is not for humans to know the times or the seasons which are only known by the Father (Acts 1:7).
If you go down the ridiculous road of Jewish sayings to understand scripture, where plain statements are automatically boxed in, have at it.

Interesting research.
I noticed an Old Testament verse that mentioned that the whole earth was starving and Egypt fed the whole earth. I personally have no problem with it since I assume that was the ancient assumption — so far as men knew it was the whole earth.
But as for the whole earth being flooded, I believe it was in reference to an entire civilization rather than the entire planet. In fact, it might somehow dovetail with Atlantis which ‘sank’ into the sea.
