Why exactly would he say until I give you the Revelation? I’m not sure I follow your logic. “Now man knoweth the day or the hour,” was a common Jewish saying. When a newlywed husband went to prepare his home for his bride his friends would often inquire about the bride’s expected arrival. “No man knoweth the day or the hour,” was the reply because everything had to be in its proper place for her to come. The takeaway was always that it was far into the future... Which, at that time, it was.

Yeshua’s statement told his Jewish disciples exactly which day he would return: The feast day of which no man knows exactly until it appears in the evening sky at dusk, the Day of Trumpets.
