State Department Waging "Open War" on White House
The Gatestone Institute--International Policy Council ^ | September 17, 2017 | Soeren Kern

Posted on 09/17/2017 5:05:23 AM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

The U.S. State Department has backed away from a demand that Israel return $75 million in military aid which was allocated to it by the U.S. Congress.

The repayment demand, championed by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, was described as an underhanded attempt by the State Department to derail a campaign pledge by U.S. President Donald J. Trump to improve relations with the Jewish state.

The dispute is the just the latest example of what appears to be a growing power struggle between the State Department and the White House over the future direction of American foreign policy.

The controversy goes back to the Obama administration's September 2016 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Israel, which pledged $38 billion in military assistance to Jerusalem over the next decade. The MOU expressly prohibits Israel from requesting additional financial aid from Congress.

Congressional leaders, who said the MOU violates the constitutional right of lawmakers to allocate U.S. aid, awarded Israel an additional $75 million in assistance in the final appropriations bill for fiscal year 2017.

Tillerson had argued that Israel should return the $75 million in order to stay within the limits established by the Obama administration. The effort provoked a strong reaction from Congress, which apparently prompted Tillerson to back down. (Excerpt.....continued)

I always knew that Trump would have opposition, but the level of entrenched Deep State evil surprises even me.

Are these folks meeting in a Satanic coven somewhere in Alexandria VA every week?

My God.

See 21. With both sides working together to stop him, Trump is virtually in check.

They will let him fly AF1 to hurricanes, that’s about it.

They should both submit their resignation letters.

Rather than having to face the “firestorm” of firing all these striped-pants bums, sign an executive order than has them (a) sitting in their offices sans ANY communication devices of any sort, (b)recall all state dept employees back to the USA and (c) drop all “consultants”.>>>> build an office in Name, AK. assign them all there. Cots in their office. i think half of the EPA is consultants.

Employees that can’t be fired are the worst beast in the swamp. My wife works in a public school system and tells me things employees a get away with. I just can’t relate.

I hope they are pissing Trump off but good. I would decimate the executive branch and at least twice that for State and DOJ. Silliness is over. DOS and DOJ answer to the Chief Executive.

"You can not fight the federal agencies. Forget about it."

No, but Trump can soil them in the public square.

Make State the swampiest swamp of all, make it a backwater, find a few for the stockade, so that State is a resume buster.

This from a State Department that did everything it could to suppress and minimize the Nazi slaughter of Jews in WWII.

This from a State Department that worked hard to give Eastern Europe to Stalin at Yalta.

This from a State Department that betrayed Yugoslav partisans led by Draža Mihailovic; who had fought the Nazis and rescued American pilots, and supported communist partisans instead, fully supporting the show trial that followed Mihailovic’s capture resulting in his execution.

This from a State Department that suggested and supported forced repatriation of Soviet POWs against their will, who were already aware of their imminent murders by their own government, simply because they had been exposed to the West most of who were either murdered or spent the rest of their life in a gulag.

This from the State Department that openly aided and abetted the massive infiltration of Soviet Spies in the government.

This from a State Department that gave us the UN, with a known Soviet agent (Alger Hiss) in the State Department as the primary overseer.

This from a State Department run by Dean Acheson that deliberately and publicly excluded Korea from the sphere of US defensive influence (done by the genius Dean Acheson himself in a speech) giving the Soviets and Chinese the green light to encourage and supply North Korea in an invasion of South Korea.

This from an overwhelmingly leftist State Department that has tried to destroy American sovereignty at nearly every turn since it was taken over by leftists near the end of WWII.

I just want to spit on the ground when I hear anything about the State Department, but this is nothing new. They have been waging open war on America since WWII.

Wait. Ok yes I am ignorant on international financial matters but where do these billions of dollars come from? And just why do we give away so much money to other countries again?

We have always found ways of making the firmly entrenched usurper WANT to leave when they had claimed they never would. There still is a chain of command. You still have to do the job before you and to my satisfaction or you are a non performer and will be disciplined or fired or both.

Just because you have Union muscle behind your job doesnt mean you dont have to do your job and now get to plan a scheme against the administration yout entire employed time.

NO ONE or any organization within the Executive Branch holds more power or authority that The Chief Executive. How can the people he has authority over be holding him where he cant do anything effective? I dont buy it!

They told Reagan he couldnt fire the air traffic controllers.

“Sadly, only those who are appointed can be fired.”

Can they be transferred, no loss of salary, but transferred out of the State Department?

The State Department was infiltrated in the 30’s and 40’s by socialists. That’s the reason we find the State Department’s actions continually undermine the interest of the US.

Has anyone ever head Bolton weigh in on the firing of State employees? I have felt that unionizing government employees is a conflict in interest...i.e., the taxpayers pay their salaries.

Another view....

(...These civil servants have federal job protections) that make it hard for any president to throw them out and replace them with new hires ― to “drain the swamp,” as Trump has put it.

Somehting doesn't make sense. Would like to think Tillerson is insinuating himself into the State Department Swamp to make it easier to find out how deep the cleansing has to be.

I can dream, right?

I’m done with them too

Woolsley and Dershowitz

Plenty to bash at State but I’ll take Tillerson over them

Fire everyone hired in the last 8 years or so. Even the janitors. That goes for every department. Scorched Earth policy. These scumbags are so embedded in our government that harsh measures must be taken.

Exactly!!!

Why wasn't this done on Jan. 20, 2017? Trump knew what he was facing. Or, at least he sounded that way during the campaign.
