PR Governor Ricardo Rossello being interviewed on FOX News in advance of Hurricane Maria.
Well, she’s a Cat 4 now. That was quick.
Rushing to completion. Please pray for us if you’re so inclined. I’ll try to post updates if able.
5:00 PM Discussion:
Atmospheric and oceanic conditions appear favorable for additional
rapid strengthening for the next 24 h and possibly longer. The
intensity forecast, which is at or above the upper edge of the
guidance, now calls for Maria to reach a peak intensity of 135 kt
in about 24 h, and it is possible that the hurricane could reach
category 5 status.
Prayers up!
Well that escalated quickly.
eye with a diameter of about 8-10 n mi...
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles
(205 km).
St Croix is going to get it this time, it managed to escape Irma.
Many prayers ... heartfelt.
Be safe.
Reading discussion at Storm 2k..several saying it’s looking like a Cat 5 already. No recon yet so NHC being conservative . Plane on its way from Central Florida in a couple minutes.
Trying to find a bright side...at least it’s smaller in size than Irma. But man, that eye is incredible. “The dreaded pinhole eye”.
Dominica in trouble ..population 70,000ish
I think its a CAT 5 now actually
recon will be there in 90 minutes
Let’s hope the eye stays away from the populated areas.
Praying that God will continue to bless you and your family as you weather this latest storm.
Guadeloupe may have some big problems with storm surge.
As in Dominican Republic?
I know some people from a local area church who just got down there on Sunday for a long planned missions trip.
no
Commonwealth of Dominica ..a leeward island
Whew!
Thanks.
Although, now it occurs to me to ask WHY anyone would plan a missions trip to any of those places during hurricane season.
Better to go in Jan when you can be sure you are not missing any nice weather here anyways.
Agree. Dominica. Guadaloupe. Leewards. Damn. The surge and rain:(
