LOOK: Stadium is half-empty for Colts-Rams regular season opener in Los Angeles
CBS Sports ^ | Sept 13, 2017 | John Breech

If NFL fans in Los Angeles are excited about the Rams this year, they have a funny way of showing it. The L.A. Coliseum looked nearly empty for the team's home opener against the Colts on Sunday, and let's just say that everyone watching at home seemed to notice.

When the game kicked off, former Colts punter Pat McAfee was one of the first people to point out how empty the stadium looked.

Not even the lure of a $6 ticket was enough to get Rams fans to the game. That's right, all you needed was six dollars to attend Sunday's game, and even that wasn't enough to get fans through the doors...

That would be a great way to round up all the illegals.

This NFL clusterf___ will significantly cut their revenues for many years as white middle class men bail on them.

By that time there may be no such thing as ESPN and many smaller market teams may have closed up shop.

Salaries will stop dropping and it is the future players who will pay for the stupidity of the current pack of spoiled brats.

The 9ers suffer from an overheating effect in their new stadium, one more good use for asbestos undies. One side of the stadium with no shade cooks fans..

I saw that excuse the other day, but football has been going on many years in the open under blazing sun and this is not the only hot pro or college stadium in the country. Snowflakes. Stay home.

Just ribbing in Pittsburgh.

In Philly, if you wear a Cowboys jersey, better bring your med insurance card for your trip to the ER.

I lived in Southern California for a few years and really had no desire to go watch pro sporting events. The weather there is so perfect year round that there were always other things I'd rather be doing. I remember one Christmas playing volleyball at the beach. I think that's the reason pro sports struggle a bit there.

Just read a book on the history of professional football and it was very interesting, especially how the modern NFL all came together under the leadership of Pete Rozelle and turned pro football into a multi-billion dollar industry - making millionaires out of players, many of which otherwise would be flipping burgers or pumping gas.

The NFL had a really good thing going but they are pissing it away.

Should have stayed in St Louis...

Should never had left L.A. in the first place! But, what do I care? I'm boycotting the NFL, anyway! As well as, ESPN!

Absolutely... Roll Tide! I am trying to develop a taste for baseball, mat least it is hot dogs and apple pie. Unfortunately I have always enjoyed watching contact sports... and baseballs is boring.

At the old Vet, they would have a choice. Jail or hospital...both in the bowels of the stadium!

Baseball plays 162 games. Only the tiny stadiums regularly sell out. But that still means about six or seven tes more tickets sold.

Yep. LA has seen the likes of the Rams come and go over the years. They know the Rams aren't likely to stick around after their "deal" expires. Why invest ones time in a team like that?

They’ll soon realize they need to get control of their thugs.

Almost 70% of the NFL players are black. The NFL is afraid they will be called "racists" if they discipline them and tell them to STOP the Anti-American, BLM garbage.

It was the same with Barry Obunga. Most in Congress and the media were afraid to even criticize him.

I haven’t gone to a “”game” in over 30 years and I stopped watching the NFL altogether after the infamous “wardrobe malfunction””. My Sundays have been FABULOUS without the NFL.

Oh, and living in metro Detroit (Lions) helped also (last championship 1957).

First, the stadium is in downtown Los Angeles - I will not go there unless I must. Traffic is HORRIBLE since the Calif Government started allowing anybody to have a drivers license.

That is the same stadium used by the USC Trojans. They bring in the people and have a good appearance and spirit about them - whereas the NFL has Rodman’d out their image and angered may people who care about this nation.

I used to hate the Dallas Cowboys. Now they’re one of the only teams I’ll watch.
