At a $1million/mile, 2000 miles of wall would cost $2 Billion. Chump change.
It may be you are confused because many Freepers conflated two separate things in order to howl about Trump's deal with Chuck and Nancy. The debt ceiling was increased until December. The budget has not been passed. The debt ceiling is just the credit limit by which net borrowing must stay beneath. The budget says how that spending can be used.
No he didn’t ......stop spreading lies!
You’re slow....raising the debt ceiling was just passed.
Unless the wall is being built out of solid gold, the U.S. taxpayer is getting screwed yet again.
Could we make that permanent? Why do we have non-essential employees?
In total a total over the top spend by the government outrageous amount of $200/LF of wall, it would only be about $2B. And that considers a large CONCRETE wall, which I doubt we will get.
Let's not forget, there are quite a few miles of wall/fence already in place and there are some areas where natural landscape can be used for a portion of the security. In other words, we are not talking about the entire 2,000 miles (1,989).
The purpose for the federal govt’s creation (which involved Islamacists) and which led to Civil War I.
Their salient reason for existence: defending the states from foreign threats. And they act like they’re really being put-upon—more concerned with resisting the US president than a foreign invasion.
But they’ve got plenty of fiat money for infanticide, raising cowbird chicks and “progressive’ agit-prop.
And anything else foolish you can think of, almost always involving their BS free-booting alphabet agencies.
Gee, it only took EIGHT MONTHS!!
Frigin’ GOP.
I'm just pointing out that the GOP Congress did not pass Obama's DACA. And now we have a GOP president that wants DACA.
Where are you getting this number, please?
A wall is nothing but a 6 lane concrete highway built perpendicularly. Nothing special going on here. I could cost this out per mile but I am not getting paid. But $1M/mile is a good estimate. Probably high.
Your point is valid, but a clarification: the “non-essential government employees” are only delayed in getting paid... they will be paid once the agreement is reached, so they still get paid eventually.
???
You are kidding right?
Yea, I am, but in addition to the debt ceiling the CR funded the government through 12/8/17.

Sooner the better.......
Isn’t that akin to using the same argument of raising or lowering taxes to keep increasing spending levels? I’m not concerned about the wall cost. My point is the spending level period. We should be no where close to an annual budget if 1.2 trillion and Trump needs to go through it line by line as a businessman does

They've been that way since day one. No one is going to forget these SOBs. Payback will be intense.
