I was in Hungary recently and have 2 observations:

1) The border fence is real and very impressive (at least where I crossed).

2) The country is loaded with dark-skinned people, at least relative to its neighbors. Say what you will about Orban’s policies (and by default, the country as a whole), but they are CLEARLY not xenophobic (even if nearly every idiot German thinks differently). Perhaps instead, they simply want to have some control over who enters.

it is worth noting that Hungary marks the start of the 1956 uprising (October 23rd) as a national holiday. Hungarians have long memories...especially when it comes to being oppressed.
