Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon told 60 Minutes that President Donald Trumpunlike Americas elitesunderstands that China is at economic war with us. Bannon told CBS anchor Charlie Rose that Trump for 30 years has singled out China as the biggest single problem we have on the world stage.
The elites in this country have got us in a situationwere not at economic war with China, China is at economic war with us, he said.
Bannon said, for starters, he wants China to stop appropriating our technology.
China is, through forced technology transfer and through stealing our technology, cutting out the beating heart of American innovation, Bannon said.
Bannon expressed similar sentiments to American Prospect editor Robert Kuttner, whom he called because he agreed with some of the things Kuttner has written on China.
Were at economic war with China, he told Kuttner. Its in all their literature. Theyre not shy about saying what theyre doing. One of us is going to be a hegemon in 25 or 30 years and its gonna be them if we go down this path.
Bannon told Kuttner that to him, the economic war with China is everything. And we have to be maniacally focused on that. If we continue to lose it, were five years away, I think, ten years at the most, of hitting an inflection point from which well never be able to recover.
Bannon will deliver his tough-on-China message directly in Asia this week when he speaks at an investor conference in Hong Kong.
...
China right now is Germany in 1930, Bannon said. Its on the cusp. It could go one way or the other.

“China is at economic war with us.”
Not exactly news. But up to now, the trading deals made with the Chinese have either not addressed theft of intellectual property (they steal our patents, or reverse engineer our finished products, then make their own copies), or the technology was given to them in exchange for cash that went to support a domestic political program here in the US, or even to enrich certain pockets.
Donald Trump has slammed the window shut on these practices,by executing the applicable law. Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 provides the United States with the authority to enforce trade agreements, resolve trade disputes, and open foreign markets to U.S. goods and services. It is the principal statutory authority under which the United States may impose trade sanctions on foreign countries that either violate trade agreements or engage in other unfair trade practices. When negotiations to remove the offending trade practice fail, the United States may take action to raise import duties on the foreign country’s products as a means to rebalance lost concessions.
Yeah, but American CEO’s who sent jobs to China’s cheap labor factories can now afford 4 vacation homes instead of just 2, so it all balances out.
I like how Free Traitors abuse the language by saying we cant afford to “start” a trade war/. WE> ARE> IN> A> TRADE> NOW>. We need to start to fighting back.
Wow. I bet the free traitors were smashing their tv sets.
This is a very important issue.
BOTH PARTIES have huge segments, who are completely sold out to China.
Both parties. The entire last generation, presidents of both parties, and almost the entire party establishments, have been sold out to China.
Now, people are starting to wake up. Finally.
The thing is, there are massive sections of BOTH political parties, who are sold out.
I think the American political definitions might be completely redefined, as this issue reaches critical mass. There are huge segments of America sold out.
It is time, to bring them back.
Those who have sold out, may need to be abandoned.
America needs to produce things, once again.
Taiwanese are cool. But let’s face it: Red Chinese are bug people.
When China decided to abandon Communism and grow their economy they asked history: What is the surest and fastest path?
Their research showed they should emulate the early USA.
Thus Mercantilism became their official state policy. Maintenance of a trade surplus is essential to every element of their strategy. So much so they would risk war with the US to maintain it.
That’s why we need to cut them off from our markets. And the largest transfer of capital stock in the history of the world.
