Ok so number 1, it’s free. how so? Do you need a cell phone service? or can you take an Iphone 3g out of your draw and use it? if you can, you have my interest.

The app is free and if you use it on free wi-fi, like a hot spot, that’s free. If you use it on your home internet, you’re already paying for that, so no extra charge.

You ought to just download it to your PC and kick the tires a bit and see what you think.

I monitored several channels at the height of the hurricane and was able to assist by uploading visuals for people.

If you like listening to scanners during events of national importance, you might like Zello. And if you ever need it to communicate, that’s a plus, you already have it.

Zello needs a smart phone (Android or i-Phone) with the Zello client and a working wi-fi connection to your phone (or via your cellular network data plan). It works like most "push to talk" style radios. Address setup is free. A bit more manual than Skype.
