The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

We see them hung over lines a lot. I guess it’s just a lark.
Black Spiced Rum and Strawberry drink mix is my favorite. Black strawberry.
Our tornado warnings number between 9-12 right now. Windy, pouring...you know the drill.
Read a tweet somewhere islamorada has lots of debris but not toooo bad. Thought of you. Hope it’s accurate.
PS, apologies to all, I just now found out from my brother, that my Photobucket account isn’t subjct to the “Pay to Share” plan.
Good, realtime data feeds here, from Allison House, and GR Level 2 plus graphics analysis software.
The audio/video side of this facility is set up to, but not practiced in streaming video, so stills have to suffice for this event.
Capability info available at www.e4mm.com
This is day two of a three day planned event for me, got a six hour nap after a 24 hour PC session, ending when Irma made KW landfall. I am caught up on the last hour, with a 6 hour gap preceeding it.
Do we have any hard data from Key West? Radar appears to be offline. Surge heigth, damage estimates, peak wave heigth .
or windspeed?
PS, Naples 4 foot surge above high tide, current, per TWC.
For potential future reference, the 4 foot surge current at Naples (peak?) follows eye center at a 21.1 NM range.
So, Ft Myers, then Tampa, significant surge 20 miles behind eye center.

Yep, I’m in same county as your mother. We’ve had several touchdowns - one about 3 miles from me. If you go to the twitter account above you can click on his feed and see where they are.
Remember these are NOT the tornadoes of the plains. These are smaller:)
Where it most likely would have ended up anyways.
This storm is covering the entire state.
The very southern end will have been under hurricane conditions for an incredibily long time.
Yeah it just may destroy about the entire state.
Thank you.
Shoes on power lines mean that drugs are sold there or in that area. Occasionally they show gang borders.
Of course, sometimes they just shoes and some kid got bored.
“I thought the HQ was in Clearwater.”
“It is. They own a ton of property there.”
And they want more. They were caught trying to buy up most of downtown Clearwater using suspicious methods — via anonymous purchasers:
“The church already owns a good portion of downtown and has been buying up more parcels for the past several months through anonymous LLCs.”

Glad about Islamorada. I stated in a lovely hotel there about 25 years ago. A beautiful area.
You are soooo right! ;)
There are those of us who also just want to plan vacations.
I am back. Was at a ceremony honoring Heroes’ cried a lot but very proud. That’s all I can say.Our son-in-laws crew was moved to Port St Lucia last night to a beachfront hotel.I was very worried about the location. They just had a 100 MPH gust. They lost all electric and cell phone service an hour ago. Weather channel said storm surge was going to be way down so they should be OK.
